These Terms of Use apply to your use of Loja Descoberta (lojadescoberta.com, “the site”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

What the site provides

The site publishes free guides, tutorials and simple patterns about knitting for general information and personal enjoyment. We work to keep the instructions clear and accurate, but we do not guarantee that every guide is free of errors or that you will get a particular result, size or yardage by following it. Yarn, needles and individual knitting tension vary, so finished measurements and the amount of yarn needed are estimates.

Safety

Knitting is a low-risk craft, but it involves pointed needles, scissors, tapestry needles and small items such as stitch markers. Use tools with care and store them safely. Children should be supervised by an adult, and small notions should be kept away from young children. Take breaks if your hands, wrists or shoulders become uncomfortable; the site does not give medical advice. Knitted items made from our guides are not tested safety products: you are responsible for deciding whether an item is suitable for its intended use, including any item made for a baby or a young child.

Using our content

Unless stated otherwise, the text, patterns, illustrations and design of the site belong to Loja Descoberta. You are welcome to:

  • read, print and use the guides and patterns for personal, classroom, library, knitting-group or other non-commercial purposes;
  • keep, give away or sell the items you knit yourself from our patterns;
  • share a link to any page;
  • quote short passages with a clear credit and a link back to the original page.

Please do not republish whole articles, patterns or illustrations, sell them, or present them as your own work without written permission.

Basic stitches and techniques such as garter stitch, ribbing or the long-tail cast-on are common knowledge, and anyone is free to use them. Our rights relate to our own written instructions and illustrations, not to the stitches and techniques themselves.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site. This includes attempting to gain unauthorized access, interfering with how the site works, sending spam or unlawful content through the contact form, or copying the site in bulk by automated means beyond what is needed for normal search engine indexing.

The site links to a small number of third-party websites that we think are useful. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
